Hmm. Normally I get ads based on my browsing history but I also get dating ads for some reason.... The puzzling thing is these power hungry ads are only coming up on AULRO and not the other websites I use.

no idea,
no 18+ adverts are allowed to be served. (google has had issues with this a couple of times in the past)
the big banner advert is served direct from googles servers to you based on content you have seen else where or by keyword on this site unless there is nothing in the queue and then they serve one of their stock adverts, or display nothing.
i have seen a few dating site adverts come up every now and then but not on a regular basis, i allow targeted advertising in my preferences so i don't usually see crap i am not interested in.
what i have noticed from time to time is that some browsers seem to push a particular genre that others don't, and that can vary greatly depending on the time of day.
i do know that some funny things have been happening that would only happen if stuff is being transperantly proxied. i am of the opinion that some, not all isp's are using them to do the url blocking required by law now and that is influencing a lot of things it shouldn't be.
and it is about to get worse when the European Union starts enforcing it's GDPR crap IMHO.
i am not looking forward to it....
Those Russian dating ads are a bit surprising, since I've never dated a Russian!
Thanks Dave. The millionth visitor ad has disappeared at the moment and has been replaced by a BMW ad. I think I have ‘limit as tracking’ enabled on my iPhone and Mac but can’t remember.

Dunno why, but if I keep deleting the add on code and hitting return it all works fine and after awhile it stops appearing.

Still me, apparently.
