the higher the subscription level the less adverts you see
for instance Gold subscribers arent served the big banner at the top under the navbar as well as a couple of others

if it is affecting your machine that badly use ghostery or something similar and blacklist that advert
and i have never seen the advert here so can't say how it affects my macs
