Golden Circle Beetroot comes from New Zealand now. Heinz closed the beetroot processing line. I no longer buy it. I look at the can labels and buy Australian.

The following were canneries and food preserving plants around Brisbane when I was a lad, sadly now all closed except for Golden Circle.

There may have been others but these are the ones I remember clearly.

Apparently Golden Circle only processes enough pineapples to claim Australian produce. Their pineapples are mainly from overseas.

Bring back the Falcon, then I'll cheer. I don't give a damn who cans pineapple. This coming from someone who dressed up in big coats in Northgate in summer to work at GC ( Frozen peas, if you're asking ).

I also don't care who owns Vegemite. It is still made (?) in the same place it was made when I was born. Never mind where the money goes. Did any of you ever get any of it anyway?

The best Pineapples in the world are still on sale up here,, you actually eat pinapple from a can???
