    Major accident near Dubbo

    There has been a major road accident on the Newell Hwy 12km north of Dubbo. It appears to have involved a truck running into the back of the queue stopped at a roadworks stop sign. There are reported to be five cars and two trucks involved. At present eight have been transported to Dubbo Base by ambulance, two are deceased, and two are still trapped with helicopters standing by for transport.

    The Newell Highway is closed in both directions, and is expected to remain closed into the night. Traffic diversions are via Mendooran for Northbound and Narromine for southbound.

    I heard a report stating seven cars, two trucks, ten fatalities and two entrapments. I hope that was an alarmist exaggeration.

    Looking at the picture I thought that it was the same trucking company that was involved in the last bad one back in May but it was just crap reporting from news.com who were using a photo from the May accident. All white trucks look the same, right



    ABC photo shows a different truck that has run into the back of stationary traffic and a B double that was waiting in the queue.
