Talking Landrover are making an Outdoor Phone.

Realeased this year at a European outdoor tradeshow is this: Land Rover Explore: Outdoor Phone The landrover Explore Outdoor mobile. Not much info on it yet, supposedly water and drop-proof with "good connectivity". I imagine that doesn't mean DIY diagnostics on your vehicle. Would be handy though.

    Let the jokes start......... NOW!

Apparrently not. It won an award in the Tech section at the German Outdoor trade show. I wonder which "maintenace free" sealed component will go first.....

When they say "waterproof" does that mean it doesn't leak? Seriously! A Land Rover product that DOESN'T leak? I call BS on that!

Typical, no image or real description of anything we would normally call a phone! Is it a Defender?

...It looks like you get a rugged bearded guy to convey your messages through mountains and blizzards - the phone (he) also doubles as a personal emergency paramedic so no need for dialling 000 and a hire a hubby for all the image concious but incapable inner urban owners of new LR SUVs. 🙈😇

It’ll probably run Android so I’ll definitely keep my waterproof iPhone 7 with its drop proof Otterbox ‘Defender’ case.

Defender based outdoor phone? This is what I immeadiately thought of..........square, rugged, may leak a little bit, classic styling, a wee bit of nostaglia and no mistaking what it is.
