But its OK,, they apologised.. That makes it ok,, right?

After reading a media report on this , it seems to me to be quite a legitimate idea.IE to see what the ACTUAL exposure to diesel fumes does vs the theoretical idea of a perhaps Greenie scientist.

The response on how terrible it all was suggested to me that there is a political aim involved in the response and not a scientific result checking exercise.

The main problem is those humans (us) who will gain from the trial results are not the same people that bear the risk and burden of trial (participants and monkeys). Participants in a clinical trial entails an increased level of risk/morality with respect to ordinary clinical care. This is particularly true given that diesels exhaust is already proven carcinogenic

In plain language, are we willing to kill a few to save millions? Is that sacrifice today for a better future? Or just exploration of the poor and disadvantages member of the society.

If yes, then there will be thousands of experiments conducted on (perhaps African) kids because afterall all the safty dosage for children are based on pure guessing

There was some research done approx 80 yrs ago , it is still being used as a reference point .

So , i guess ze germans have a history with this style of research .


But , i agree there is a political end game being played - oh , and i would not for a minute think VW are alone in this .

They just got caught ( again )

A new series on Netflix called Dirty Money has an episode on the VW scandal and it has this human/monkey testing part in it.
