I imagine Tonic has been flogged to perform since he was a kid, achieved a lot, has millions in the bank and is now wondering what it all means for the rest of his life.
Either he rediscovers a love of tennis or else he should just walk away and go fishing, study archaeology, fall in love or become a beach bum, I reckon.
    Depression is a serious illness.

Banshee and Longmire are both excellent.

    Another good one is 'Justified'.

ok. I have just searched Tomich's world tennis ranking .

    he is currently #168.

for some of you here , you sneeze at that ranking.

try to get that ranking yourself.

it is still an awesome accomplishment regardless of how you perceive him.

leave him alone and get on with your own lives.....which are quite perfect...of course.

If you're going to put yourself in the public spotlight as an ellite athlete and brag about your millions of dollars, you should expect to cop a bit from the public - it's par for the course. If you can't stand the heat as they say...

I believe the athletes don’t have a choice about being in the public spotlight (at the competition venue) as it’s a requirement of participating.....yeah they could not play at all I guess. I don’t reckon many players are keen on fronting the press when they have just lost a match.

Re: Tomic, I believe he could go about press conferences a little better. Hopefully he can turn himself around like Nick Kyiros has than it will be a distant memory.

But he has the ability to be in the top 10 - he is just full of his own importance - he will go the way of Philippoussis - broke and an also ran in 3rd rate tournaments - and he got up to No 8.

Tomic does not deserve any pity - his current circumstances are all his own making.

They actually get fined if they refuse to attend post-match media conferences.

Maybe he should just say he is sick and take a break from playing. He might rediscover his mojo. Worked for Federer.

At least he has a command of the English language. I saw once that go.fers from non English backgrounds were compelled to learn enough of the language to complete these interviews. I doubt many English first competitors learn the language of the host countries they compete in ?
Anyhow I feel if they are uncomfortable or do not wish to participate in these interviews they should be allowed to opt out.
