The On Target Forum has been removed.

    Ladies and Gentlemen,
due to new adsense rules we have had to withdraw the On Target Forum.
We have no control over this and apologise to all its regulars.

What rule prevents people from talking about firearm ownership and use?

You saying it's banned now to discuss such things in other forum (general chat)? Future posts relating to firearms will be removed? What's the limitations on this?

Just asking because the announcement leaves a few questions unanswered.

weapons chatter is not allowable under adsense rules

i am considering building a new area to cover it but it is not something i have time to cope with at present

there are a lot of implcations i am still trying to work my way through but i have very limited time at my disposal at present so they are on the to do list.

the landscape is changing and it isnt for the better IMHO

It seems that adsense includes it with pornography, drugs and general dishonesty - wow !

    Prohibited content - AdSense Help

The aulro ruling does not seem to recognise that adsense has a policy on what IS acceptable, as follows

    What's the policy?

    .........

    Acceptable

Pages that are primarily about the sport of hunting
Pages that sell antique guns, non-working replicas, emergency flares, paintball guns, scopes, or holsters
Pages located outside the U.S. that sell Airsoft guns
Pages in the U.S. that sell Airsoft guns and have the appropriate disclaimer on the landing page
Pages that contain content regarding archery or bowhunting
Pages that sell collectible knives, daggers, swords, cutlery, chef knives, or sporting equipment

what's so hard about that Pedro ?????

The Responsible use of firearms is something that Needs to be discussed, Sweeping it under the carpet is an irresponsible knee jerk reaction fostered by political correctness gone Mad.
What's next a ban on talking about Landrovers, These kill and maim people as well?

By outlawing all discussion about legally owned and used sporting equipment AdSense by default declares itself to having and implementing a privately orchestrated social engineering agenda.

    Appalled

Absolutely appalled at this decision. Firearms use for hunting and sport is completely legal in this country for people with appropriate licenses. Just as driving a motor vehicle is.
This is an attempt to limit free speech and as such should not be tolerated by members on here and in particular by the administration of this forum.
This is blatant social engineering by those that believe they have the right to dictate to the general populace what can and can't be discussed in a public space.

What or who are AdSense exactly?
Im guessing they are some kind of administrative organisation?

You have to sign into an account, which obviously I don’t have

We are on a Land Rover forum and the majority of the forum wouldn’t use the on target area.

I’m guessing there are plenty of firearm forums/websites to discuss, share etc........

I’m also guessing the arrangement with Adsense helps keeping the forum afloat.

Ferret, if we have had to remove the whole On Target Forum I would think posting about firearms anywhere on AULRO is now not allowed
