Lifetime Warranty

I believe that the previous "lifetime" warranty on Leatherrman tools is now *only* 25 years. I have an original Supertool which will be 22 years old this year, and a newer 300 (and a couple of others...) that is only about a decade old. I recall a dealer telling me if I ever wanted a new replacement for my original to "Just snap off the knife in a vice or something. They stopped making the original so they'll give you a new one". I don't think so, but nice to know they stand behind their product and if something does happen it'll be sorted.
I got my FIL a ST-300 quite a few years back and he has absolutely hammered it (he's a home handyman) and it gets used multiple times a day every day, and used hard. If it ever fails he says he won't claim it (just buy another) as it has paid for itself dozens of times over... and he's a tight-****. 'nuf said :) Buy quality and buy once.

Yes. My puma knife I wore the blade out so I wrote a letter to manufacture r, explaining how I liked the knife and was prepared to pay for a new blade. Posted it off to Germany- a month later it comes back fully refurbished no charge. A year later I broke the mainspring- so sent it off again. Same thing back it came fully repaired. Very happy. Then I broke the blade on my buck knife- mailed it off to them they sent me a new replacement but charged for postage which was fair. So both great support. Mind you that was 20 years ago[emoji3]

I broke a Snap-on 1/2 drive socket once working on a bit of CAT equipment and when on a trip to Wiggies (Wigmore Tractors, CAT and Snap-on dealers) I asked the storeman about their warranty and he replaced it no questions asked.
Of course I didn't tell him about the size of the bar I was using at the time it broke.....[smilebigeye]

I've had a Leatherman for about 10 years. Worked it hard at times but it's still going strong. Hopefully will never have to test its warranty - glad to hear Victorinox keep their side of the bargain. 👍

Cutting a long story short, I inherited a Plano (fishing) tackle box from my FIL that's done more miles than the space shuttle.
The lid was badly cracked around the handle so I emailed Plano to order a replacement lid. They were "No worries" about it and the replacement lid arrived within about 8 days, free of charge.

Weber BBQ's have a lifetime warranty. A mate gave me an old flat top Weber, which I spotted in his junk heap. It looked knackered but I really liked its design, black enamel with rolled edge sliding lids and solid frame. I thought I'd try cleaning it up.

Got it home to find rusted out burners and many melted plastic parts. I called Weber to enquire about replacement parts and they told me of the lifetime warranty. They asked what model and the person on the phone said it was one of her favourite models they don't make those anymore, however she had all the parts for it!. I asked how much, she said no, just give me your postal address, no charge! ...I had all the new parts, including 4 new stainless burners, 2 days later! That was ten years ago and I still use the BBQ at least once a week. Love it.

I busted a 36mm Sidchrome socket doing up the rear axle nut on a VW Beetle. They replaced it without question based on the lifetime warranty. It’s still going strong.

I watched a Doco on the Swiss army knife factory, very interest on how they are made, lots of hands on stuff so quite labour intensive, which reflects in price. but a masterpiece of equipment

And Land Rover give you 3 years?????????

I’ve had a couple of Sidchrome ratchets replaced at my local tool supplier, no questions, just a brief inspection.
