Yes. Kincrome and Leatherman
A rare thing these days but I'd like to pass on a good news story.
One of my favorite tools I use daily is my Victorinox Multitool. From the original and genuine Swiss Army knife manufacturer.
A handy unit, always on my belt, has lots of tools and folds out onto a decent pair of pliers.
Sadly I broke off one half of the pliers and thought I would have to junk the tool and cough up $200+ for a new one.
But Victorinox's website boasts lifetime warranty so I sent them photos of the break and what "lifetime" actually means.
They suggested I send them the tool, at their cost!, which I did and promptly received an email expressing their sorrow the unit could not be repaired but would forward a new one asap. I waited until after xmas and true to their word a new unit came in the mail.
Very happy camper! Well done Victorinox.
This raises a question - anyone else experienced a true to word lifetime warranty?

Yes. Kincrome and Leatherman
I have a Victorinox stashedaway somewhere, hardly gets used so I’ll probably never to enact warranty.
I also have a leatherman, again hardly used.
I have a Leatherman, SWMBO gave it to me for my 50th.
Before that I always wore a pocket knife.
The Leatherman is a far better tool, has fixed ATM machines, freezers, cash register printers, staplers & even a D3, not to mention opening many battery powered devices.
Would never be without one now despite having to remember to take it off to get on a plane.
I haven't used the Life time warrantee & hope I don't have to, would hate to be without it.

The grass catcher on my Masport Lawnmower bought in 2001 has a lifetime warranty and has developed a crack - about to see if it will be honoured - still got the receipts and brochures.
Wish me luck - just got to work out who to take it too - Bunnings or an authorised dealer - current consumer laws say Bunnings but was bought before the new laws.

My father got some new hearing aids recently. After fitting they told him they are covered by a lifetime warrantee. He is nearly 90 so replied he would be happy with a lifetime battery for them !
I have received a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife as a present about 40 years ago when I was a lad. Had it with me all the time ever since and i use it almost daily still. Arguably th emost useful present I ever received.
Same here, some years ago it got damaged and when I called the service desk in Switzerland they recommended sending it in for an overhaul. I received a virtually new item in return.

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.
I had a Columbia ski jacket which had a "lifetime" warranty on the waterproof membrane. When it broke down and started becoming water absorbent... after about ten years... I took it back to the shop and inquired about this "lifetime" warranty. I was then informed that it meant "for the lifetime of the jacket". WTF? I mean yes, ten years is an impressive life for a ski jacket, but still, lifetime should not be used in a warranty claim unless it means basically forever.
Under Australian Consumer Law however, there are expected durability lifespans for certain types of products. So the word "lifetime" only legally needs to apply for the ACL timeframe. In the case of a multi tool, I guess that could be a long time.
Was given a Victorinox pocket knife for my 21st birthday. I think it's called Champion model. I used it for all sorts of things, including screwing a camera mount into a piece of wood to take secret photos inside a gilt cathedral in South America. Over the years, I damaged bits of it and broke others. I remember getting to London about 1980, having come from 5 months backpacking around South America. The spring in the scissors was missing, so I called in to Harrods, (I would have looked like a filthy hippy) and enquired of the doorman if such thing would be available there. He directed me to the cutlers department, and there, a suited, white gloved man, gave me a spring for my scissors, and said "with the complements of the management sir" I was, and am chuffed.
Anyhow, more years went by, and the knife was looking fairly battered. The pen blade had the tip broken off, as did the large flat screw driver, tweezers missing, saw blade snapped off at the base, and the sides melted and shrivelled from being dropped in a boiling pool at Rotorua NZ., and then araldited back on. It was a sorry sight.
The local locksmith had a sign up. "Victorinox Dealer". I asked him if it could be repaired. He sent it off.
When it came back, all the broken bits had been replaced, and it had new sides with new tweezers and even a pen in there. And as far as I know, the Harrods spring is still in the scissors.
Bloody fantastic, all fixed and free of charge.
You can't get better than that.
Don.
Years ago I had a Tasco world class rifle scope [ hope I am not contravening any moral laws talking about it ] I droped the rifle & bent the scope , it was replaced without question , over the counter .
