Not as busy as here, at the free rest stop behind the Calliope Historic Village near Gladstone.
There are supposed to be crocs in there, but people are still wading about, with their dogs. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c15cc47c04.jpg

So we went into Gladstone, which has grown a lot, I bought a new pair of budgie smugglers (such extravagance!) and then we did the logical thing on a hot day and went to the aquatic center. Lovely - and safe. Even got a senior's discount.

This should be the Urumbilum River, west of Coffs Harbour, but right now it's just a gravel bed. This is my home valley, where my family dates back to 1910. I remember years when this river would flood the valley and wash away bridges. In fact, there used to be a bridge right in this scene. Now it is just a few stagnant pools. Anyone still deny the climate is changing? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a2e824f558.jpg
This is another pic of our pleasant camp. I don't have a problem, apparently!
