Trapani in Sicily
Days are in the high twenties with a blue sky and no rain which makes a nice change from the UK
The Land Rover is something to do with the lighthouse service which has a military connection. Despite this being a harbour and it being parked next to one of the wharfs there was no obvious rust showing

That beach looks a bit ordinary.
Forgot to mention that while prices in the Euro zone are generally higher than the UK a very good coffee in a local coffee shop is no more than €2. Similar but not as good tasting in UK would be £5
Beaches in the Mediterranean tend to be like that. Rocks with ‘sand’ that is more like the ground granite they used to cover school play grounds with. The tide is in though so the beach is not really visible
Even at low tide the beach has water as further out they have put in a line of rocks to retain knee/waist deep water for swimmers. Water depth increased quickly outside the rocks
While there have been some interest ideas of what to wear on the beach there have been no white pointers. My dog who used to be fascinated by them and would run up and stare until I dragged him away would have been disappointed
Flight up to Gold Coast wasnt bad. We beat the jatstar flight as well lol. Traffic up here isnobetter. Took up 1 1/4 hrs to get to surfers. Leave for Byron in an hour or so[biggrin]
