Does anyone let their vehicle cool down before a water crossing?

The other thing that no one has mentioned is warping brake discs.

If you think about it, a river crossing is almost invariably down in a valley and is generally approached by driving down a (sometimes very steep) hill that will involve the use of brakes to some extent.

I remember Slunnie posting this up some time ago, along with the idea that vented discs were more prone to warping than solid if suddenly cooled.

You get fools like this everywhere be 4WD's or Boats, Heaps of money But short on common sense.
It doesn't bother me at all that they are wreaking their gear doing stupid stuff But it really is a PITA dragging the useless buggers out of the bush or back to the boat ramp when things go pear shaped.

Never had an issue with slotted rotors and at one point I had to drive through a river every day to get to and from home. [emoji14]

Wasn't talking about slotted, or slotted and drilled. I'll have to dig up the thread.

What Slunnie was referring to was the difference in warping between stock LR vented or solid rotors that could be used on the same vehicle, i.e. RRC fronts, based (from memory) on his experience.

I've had solid slotted DBA rotors on my POS for years and they're great, but they're still a solid rotor, just better.
