This could take a while. I'll get to the Land Rovers.

Back in the 70's a local bloke, drag racer and mad!!!!, built a twin engine Moke with two full house 1310's. He intended to road race it but had numerous blues with CAMS examiners who were not prepared to give him a log book in any of the classes he desired. Much screaming, shouting, table thumping, to no avail. He went away and registered it for road use. Bloody lethal weapon. Fast as a Ferrari. Knowing his habits I am surprised not one of those arrogant CAMS stewards got decked. He didn't bar painters and dockers and first grade Rugby League forwards when it came to a blue.

The car was a nice little earner in street races. Friday nights at Lytton Road and Saturday nights near Ipswich where the street draggers gathered for a contest and a bet.

The green MGC looks a lot like a car I was trying to buy in Canberra in the mid 70s when I was at Duntroon..

It was a bit of a dog, really. The big lump, combined with the torsion bar suspension they had to use to get the big lump in there. made the car understeer appallingly. The V8 ( from the Rover ) was a much, much better car.
