    Is Duck Creek Road open?

Hi folks, I am looking at doing some basic off-roading and wanted to now if Duck Creek Road is open.

There was a police notice posted up in November last year stating the Road was closed and would be indefinitely.

Has any body got an update on the state of Duck Creek Road?

I'm led to believe Duck Ck will not re-open.
Not sure where you are, but Guss Buetel via Gatton or Mt Mee both offer good basic tracks.
I'd be interested in joining you, keep us informed.

Hi Ian and thanks, and that ended that idea.

I've been to Mt Mee a few times, although not lately, but as I am on the Gold coast, Mt Mee and Gatton are to far away.

If I come up with somewhere else, I will let you know.

A bit further west of Duck Creek Rd are some dirt roads around Maroon Dam or even the 14 Crossing Condamine River Rd. Sth of Duck Creek there are dirt roads around the Woodenbong/ Savuka 4wd Park area. Duck Creek was basically a dirt rd, I didn't even put the D3 in Low range and not even sure I raised the suspension on the way up.

I followed a Camry up there one day,and on the same trip came across a camel standing in the middle of the road

Tim, is Casino too far for you? I'd like to explore Hogarth Range Rd, we could also rope Rick 130 in.

Hi Ian and thanks for the invite, but I better make my intentions a little clearer.

I am not taking my RR for the off-road trip. I am getting it ready to sell, so no abuse.

I have a new Tiguan and want to see how well it will perform and how far it can go off road.

I have had the Tiguan for 15 months now and have not had a single chance to test it out.

Not sure of what the Terrain is like at Casino. Let me know.

Maybe Mt Coot-tha might be OK? Or are you looking for something sedate?

Hogarth Range probably won't be a major test to the VW, Tim. I've been part way in a B double, oops I mean semi-trailer. I'm certainly not interested in car breaking excursions.

If anyone is interested in the Gus Buetel/Gatton/Toowoomba area the Crows Nest Tourist Site has some routes on their site at Soft 4WD - Crows Nest Queenlsand
