AIR BAG RECALL

Reading of stories now of people who have had their defective Takata airbags replaced under a previous voluntary recall are now caught up again in the compulsory recall because the defective air bags were just replaced with the same defective Takata air bags.:eek2:

Looks like deliberate acts to mislead / dodge responsibility under the previous voluntary recall by some.

they aren’t trying to dodge the problem. But what’s wrong is there aren’t enough new air bags available around the world to replace all the ones needed. The airbags only become faulty after some time passes. So some manufacturers are putting the old type, but new, airbags in to give them a bit of time to get hold of proper replacements

I was just wondering if any of our Land Rovers are effected by the recall of airbag problems?

Airbags have been optional, on Goldwing motorcycles, for about ten years.
Recall for GL1800 Goldwing airbags

We got a recall fr the Paj. When we responded to book it in, we were told to ignore it as it would be recalled again for the other side. It was returned in response to the second notice, when both 'bags were replaced. The parting comment from the dealer was that it would be recalled again, as the replacements were also defective.
This was last year, when the car was under five years old.

Not a chance. Nissan Cedric, maybe.

Our Odyssey fits the year timeframe to be recalled but not the VIN.

That being so, the 'airbag' warning light is permanently illuminated anyway [bigsad]

No Land rovers are on the list that I have read

I am wondering who is going to quickly make millions of airbags suitable for all these vehicles?
