This makes my blood boil.
30 years ago an elderly lady drove head on into me as i rode through an intersection on my motorcycle.
I was lucky to survive, its debatable some days in the dark past whether or not i would be better off not to have woken up... such is the dark and heavy cloud of constant chronic pain.
The family mentioned that 'maybe we shouldve taken her licence away sooner, she has had poor eyesight and motor skills for quite a while now...'
I have a zero tolerance almost out of proportion rage to this life threatening selfish and bizarre notion tgat these people need their independence. At what price?? W ho knows what my life wouldve been like . I was fit, healthy and full of the joys of youth.
You 100% did the right thing. Maybe we can find out some way of chargingvthe daughter with criminal stupidity or aiding in tge perpetuation of further crimes/ accidents. What kind of moron doesn't see the seriousness of this situation? What if the emergency services had to lift the car off the bodies of a mother , pram and child next time??😠😠😠.
No room for negotiation. If ANY of your friends or family members are struggling with simple tasks such as being in charge of a deadly weapon, ie motorvehicle, you have a moral obligation to set in motion the removal of their means to kill or maim other road users and pedestrians.
As a survivor i can tell you it is something that i think about often...😠
