I laugh every time I see Chevrolet badges on a Holden. I don't believe most people know how crappy Chevrolet is, compared to Holden.
Expecting quality from GM, when we know that quality isnt really part of the mainstream car market in the USA, . . . . .

The Chinese have been assembling knock down kit Australian made Holden Caprices in Shanghai for many years now. Sold there as the Buick Park Avenue (and previously as the Buick Royaum). I saw hundreds of these things when I was over there, all black and almost exclusively the vehicles of Government / Party officials. I believe that they only have 4 cylinder engines, though not sure on this.
With the demise of Holden, GM Shanghai got Holden to design them a new model Park Royal, which they are going to build in Shanghai. There was some conjecture that a version of this model may have been sold back into Australia as the new Commodore before the Opel product was chosen. It still wouldn't surprise me to see a Chinese made Commodore here in the not too distant future.
The 2017 Holden Commodore will be made in China
Cheers .........

My impression is that holden had been sourcing commodore parts from china for a long time. I was once specifically told their rims came from china.
The Holden Cruze was Korean, and the locally built version was quite a reasonable thing. If it had been further developed and refined it could have been a good thing and exportable.
