First thing was the viscous fan... died when going up a hill and engine got a tad 'warm'... Killed the head and left Black Stuff in with the Green. Understandable as it put Green Stuff in with the Black !
Lot$ of $$$ to check the oil cooler thingy (built into the block) Now with 2nd re-built (new...) head... still apparantly gets Black and Green a tiny bit mixed. I suspect a cracked block, and maybe not the first time it's been roasted. Anyway, he has no faith in it at all. Looking at re-con or good 2nd hand engine, for $$$$s.
Latest trick is a front wheel bearing has died, and despite a gas-axe to cherry red, cannot get the splined shaft out of the hub. Looks like new CV, shaft, hub and the cast piece that holds brake caliper and everything in place ! And the $200 bearing.
Oh yes, the HAZARD lamp switch has dis-assembled itself.

Farmer friend sold his new BT50 a week after it's 10K service. Gutless, Drank fuel, and the idiotic placement of the burn-off unit was the reason, plus the Auto trans acting "funny" at times. Dealer unable (?) to get it right. Traded on ISUZU, more power MUCH less thirst and drives better on / off road.
Plus, can't set the paddocks alight.[bigwhistle]
Edit:- But before it broiled itself...... it was Nice to drive and pulled strongly. Manual gearbox makes the difference. Old Mc Donnel had the auto in his BT50.
Look up the oil consumption issues that the Holden Colorado currently suffers from. Not a good sign.Quote:
