    Tommy and Phil Emmanuel, the Ashokan farewell, on guitar

    This is a tune written for fiddle, often played as the last tune at fiddle competitions in the south of the USA as a farewell . Renown for the cover music to the series 'The Civil War", this is a magnificent version.

    My younger brother, when he was doing his Telstra training, used to go and see Tommy and Phil Emmanuel live at a pub in Tempe. One would play the strings, the other the chords, whilst doing requests. And they were, according to my brother, brilliant.

    Tommy Emmanuel,....probably Aussie's best known guitarist.
    One of Tommy's mentors & also a friend, they have played together, & MY all time favorite guitarist is Hank Marvin, lead guitarist of The Shadows.

    100% perfect Bob, I've seen that clip squillions of times, the look of pure joy on Hank's face as he plays, says it all. Imagine just playing a guitar, something that you love, for your whole working life,.....how good would that be?!
