Strange incident on the ring road.

I got a panicked call at 6am from a mate that was driving coaches for the Commo games on the Gold Coast that needed an urgent flight and pickup from Tullamarine, he didnt have the flight details so i waited for the call with the details.
Flight due at 10.55 so leave about then for the 25min drive to the airport, i wait in the park and ride carpark and await the call. After waiting for 40 mins i was just about to head to the pickup area in case his phone was flat or something, then he calls saying they made an emergency landing and he was in an ambulance on his was to Royal Melbourne due to suspected heart attack (he is a big bloke and has had complications in the past) but he is ok and joking that he will call later.
So i head home and about halfway there i see a black Puegot that was missing a LH tailight, didnt think much of it until almost beside me i see a red pantec truck run over something red about the size of half a football and it exploded into tiny pieces. I then came up closer to the Puegot who's driver and passenger were muslim women in full hijabs and it occurred to me that the red object was the taillight and that the driver with barely a letterbox size slit to see out of possibly backed into something and then the light fell out on the ring road at about 100kph and they were none the wiser.

Yes I often wonder how well some of these people in full hijabs can see while driving. Certainly have to turn your head and could imagine perefferal vision could be impaired.
Wonder how long it will take before they notice it missing. If you always approach the vehicle from the front it could be a very long time!
Hope your mate is doing okay.

People that are new to our country and roads can find it tough enough even without vision impairment. Adding that on top is nuts. Imagine if they hurt someone! Are they even allowed to drive in their own country like that (or at all) ?

Who says she's new to the country? She may have been born here.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Hope your mate is ok Nick.

Weirdest thing (kinda) I saw on the crawl on the ring road, northbound, was a land cruiser parked in the emergency lane on the LHS of the Teddy Whitton bridge.

The driver was peering over the railing trying to spot something below.

The LC was missing the rear p/s wheel.

    cheers, DL

If you think it is political, report it.

All are treated equally. If a number of moderators agree a political comment has been made, action is taken.
If it is your first transgression, generally, you will be warned. If you are a serial offender, access to the forum may be removed for a period of time.

Action won't be taken unless the post has been reported.
