Anyone Used FW 1 Polish on Their Vehicles

The D1's exterior needs a bit of a brighten up. I saw this product on Youtube and it looked pretty good. It's a polish/wax. It states that you don't have to wash the vehicle but I will be washing first.

Any users or first hand advice on it here?

Is this the 'waterless' FW1 fastwax stuff in an aerosol can?

I got stitched up by the sales guys at a service station forecourt one day, 10 or so years ago.
The cans rusted out in my shed because a) I hate washing cars, and b) I have other polishes which I used when I did polish.

Yep - got some out in the shed. Like Mitch, I got stitched up with 4 cans on the forecourt of the petrol station in Williams some time ago when I was down that way visiting LandyAndy. I've also seen people flogging it in the Woolworths car park here in Kalgoorlie.

It's handy for removing localised spots / stains / bird**** etc from the vehicle, but a waste of time for doing large areas / a complete vehicle. Do yourself a favour and invest in some decent car polish, like Meguirs, AutoGlym, Bowdens or similar. The FW 1 is not in their class.
    Cheers .........

Thanks, you blokes. Meguiars was suggested to me by an old mechanic mate whose critiques are legendary amongst his friends

Personally, if I had a car that's paint was in good nick I would run a mile from anything bearing the word "polish" in it's description. Polish, almost by definition, contains abrasives. It makes your car shiny by wearing away at the paint, little by little. Just look at the cloth you are using. Now, I know car finishes can oxidise, but that is the point of clear coat.

So, If I was fortunate enough to ever buy a new car the only thing I would put near it would be a proper, non silicone, wax. BMkal's choice of brand I endorse, as long as there is no silicone involved.

A proper wax regime will protect your finish against nearly anything ( impact damage aside, of course ), make it far easier to clean, and if there is no silicone it will be easier to repaint if you DO have a little accident.

Just so as you know, one of the first jobs I had, post Army, was running the PD department at a Major BMW and Saab dealer here in Melb. There was no polish allowed through the gate, except for the panel shop.
