Noticed on BBC TV the temperatures there are similar to here. Their summer is our winter. So we're complaining about cold while they say it's quite nice now. Puts it in perspective.

Yeah, absolutely. Hardly enough rain to keep the dust down at our place despite the promising forecasts and we are in the Hawkesbury valley north west of Sydney. Will need to buy water in the next week or so if there is no reasonable steady rain.
The long range forecast on Landline on the weekend was far less optimistic, saying very dry.
The BOM got caned a couple of years ago for failing to warn about a devastating rain event that hammered SE Qld, so it has been over compensating ever since.
