The Missus has a couple of doctors appointments that she can't miss so we can't get away to the northern sunshine now until 15th June, Looks like I may have to dig out the trackky dacks and the flanno's myself before we go![]()

Currently 7 here, but feels like 4, says BOM. Winter has arrived.
Mind you, I shouldn't whinge as friends are going to Finland in July, which is summer there. But in winter it's minus 50 in the north with no sun for two months.
Was camping in the Davies high plains area the weekend before last.
Bottle of water next to me in tent froze.
Propbably down to at least 5 below at aguess.
Warmed up some water to do some dishes after getting up.
Got distracted for half an hour.
Water had film of ice when I got back to it.
One of the driest springs on record here, with very high temperatures setting a lot of new records round the area. My dam is the lowest I have seen it in the last 25 years since I have lived here, and so is the river - not flowing at all, and most of the waterholes dry.
Reports of kangaroos and other wildlife dying from starvation, most graziers selling their breeding stock or buying hay from interstate, and farmers looking in despair at their withering crops (if the kangaroos haven't eaten anything that has come up). Or patting themselves on the back for not dry-sowing! All of them wondering where the money will come from for the overdraft.
