    Are we now that dumb...?

Talk about living in the past.
There should be an approved course run by a qualified educator with minimum cert IV in envelope procedures.
The envelope should also have alternative identification in case the recipients and users do not appreciate their “document carriage apparatus” being referred to, or identified as, an envelope.
Counseling services contact information should have been prominently marked to ensure any persons in contact with the “document carriage apparatus” are not affected nor disadvantaged in any way.
Clearly a study should have been called for and government intervention with funding.
...and of course, there should be an app for that.

Open a retail outlet - doesn't matter what the product is ......

Then tell me the average intelligence of the general population .

    I watched a " customer " yesterday struggle with my front door - its a door , has a handle , is clear .
    Nup too hard .

Stood outside on his phone shouting that the 'efffin place had closed down ' , I'm sitting near the door , i open it , he asks
    " Have we just opened ? "

    It was 11am , i pointed out i work Gentlemens Hours .
    Nup , no reaction .

It then turned out he was looking for the Bayfords Dealer .

It Is 15 feet from where he was standing ................

    Kill me now ! !

In the distant past I working in a wall paper factory. The number of cuts sustained was innumerable, esp when dealing with the waste edge trimmings. Not uncommon for cuts that weren’t noticed to get infected.

We have been working on a large site for quite a few years, single level buildings,a government site.

Some of the AC units are on the roofs, the roofs are all flat with minimum pitch,no safety issue at all.

One day some clown decided we had to get a cherry picker to access the roofs,we couldn't do it the easy way with the ladder anymore.

So when the bills started coming in for cherry picker hire, they decided to buy a machine for the site,to save these costs.

No worries,we have the relevant tickets, done the working at heights course, all good.

Two years later some clown decides that we haven't been instructed on how to use the machine, and there is no one on site qualified to train us on how to use it.

So the two year old machine is now not being used at all,and we are back to hiring cherry pickers again.

Another blatant waste of public money

Actually the machines being used are called a "MEWP - Mobile Elevated Work Platform" (if they are self propelled machines).
According to the AS 1410 (only just in my memory now) a Cherry Picker is a dedicated MEWP that is to be used for the purpose of fruit picking in an orchid.
I have also pondered this when watching the local council contractors trimming the trees around the place, they are using "cherry pickers" ....but are doing similar work that a cherry picker was designed for. Luckily (for them) the machines are licensed so can be driven on the roadway or road verge....

Dam all the up starts that dont want to comply with Australian Standards or ISOs'

    P.S sorry its AS1418.* and AS2550
    Regards

It seems clear that the way forward is to hire in some excavators to dig holes, then some cranes to put the buildings into them. Then the risk of a fall will have been eliminated.

I have just been on facebook. I would argue you have asked the wrong question.

The question I would ask is "Are we now that intelligent?"

Your question assumes we have the spelling skills to understand what the words are and the comprehension skills to understand and follow the directions. Something that is not often shown on facebook.

Nah,they will then find some other issue somewhere,to justify their jobs.....
