I noticed today that my training to use a ladder has expired after 12 months. Apparently I have to do a 45 minute online refresher course, followed by a practical demonstration of my competence to use a ladder. It has to be reviewed every 12 months!
The practical effect is that I am currently not approved to use a ladder to get up and fix the staff room clock, which has a flat battery.
Seriously!
