Thread: Are we now that dumb...?

    You're not alone.
I noticed today that my training to use a ladder has expired after 12 months. Apparently I have to do a 45 minute online refresher course, followed by a practical demonstration of my competence to use a ladder. It has to be reviewed every 12 months!
The practical effect is that I am currently not approved to use a ladder to get up and fix the staff room clock, which has a flat battery.
    Seriously!

Do what we always used to do - climb up on a chair.

My wife got training on how to correctly open envelopes when she was in Telstra bill paying division. Back in 1985. She thought they were joking. Tap to bottom and to left. This was so that the cheque and bill were away from the letter opener. She thought it was common sense, but people had torn the cheque doing it incorrectly.

Just blending a couple of recent themes here.............

Mate of mine dropped in for a cuppa. He's off to the Simpson with a couple of guys in a month, none have been before.

The car they're going in is a BT 50 owned by a retired school teacher, who I know.

I just said to keep it out of long grass.

Next thing he tells me the driver has invested in the right recovery gear....... aka a snatch strap.

Something about schoolteachers who've never been too far out of town and snatch straps doesn't gel.

I just said for the safety of all, leave it at home.

Nope. Can be sacked for standing on a chair. Not joking.
