There is a mob down south that does Algae O3 grown inside. Vegan jobbies. If you are interested I can get you details. The other thing you might try is dropping meats, dairy and eggs and give that a run...

For a very long time I have had hi levels of triglycerides in my system. Now over the past few years I have lost a lot of weight, improved diet, etc so that cholesterol etc is now all normal but the stubborn triglycerides still continue to rise.
Now aspects of diet will get a revisit but a huge regular dose of Omega 3 supplements will go a long way.
So I head to the chemist as seek Aust R or Aust L (google it if not understood) Omega 3 supplements but it would appear that none exist - the only Omega 3 supplements available are over in the snake oil Natural Medicine section. When ever these natural remedies are scientifically tested that fail miserably and are designed to take your money and give nothing in return.
So does anyone know where you can get Omega 3 supplements(Aust R or Aust L rated) that are "real vitamins" and not the snake oil crap that Natural Medicine flogg off.
Thanks
Garry

Thanks but I am after "proper" tested and approved supplements - I can get the snake oil variants at the chemist. Interesting when I my weight was the lowest through cutting down the bad stuff my Triglycerides were at the highest - I was eating lots of fruit and fruit can cause rises in triglycerides - as well as bad stuff and good stuff like olive oil and avocadoes fruit is also off the food list.
Thanks
Garry

Gary what Australian body does testing that would satisfy your requirements for an 0mega 3 supplement?
Cheers
No
Not sure - but if it has Aust R on the label then it is proper scientifically tested and approved by the TGA. What's on a medicine label? | Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)
I prefer Aust R (as they have to be safe, meet quality standards and be effective) but most Natural Remedies do not even meet the Aust L regulations (which means that they do not actually have to be effective) as they do not have Aust L on the container and they would if they could. So most Natural Products (those that are not Aust L) on sale do not have to prove they safe, do not have to guarantee quality and do not have to actually work - when they are scientifically tested they invariable fail.

You could eat more fish. Not an option for me. Vege only fella.
Bit of light reading by TGA here...

Why do you want to take a 'manufactured', 'refined' snake oil from a..... Reputable Robber ? What is the difficulty in getting (bioavailable) nutrients in their OEM packaging? Vitamin D and Omega 3 from oily fish and mushrooms, C from many vegetables, K2 from Dairy, B-group from steak, etc.
Some years ago, when I rejected (self-initiated trial, n=1) statins due to adverse reactions, I used tinned sardines salmon and herring "supplements" which according to the blood tests did a better job of "correcting" my cholesterol numbers.
Doctor was Pleased and offered a continuation script.... then I told him what I'd done...
Triglycerides are driven by 'sugars' a.k.a. Carbohydrates.
Despite the blatherings of various 'Accredited Dieticians Associations' there is NOTHING in a carb that our bodies NEED. The suggestion is to cut them. "Out" as is my personal Bulls-Eye, or for many "down". Also closely associated with LCHF diet balance.
Or Banting as it is known in South Africa. Bonus side - effect is weight reduction and reducing 'Insulin Resistance' or T2 Diabetes.
If your GP gives you ANY 'dietary' advice, report him/her to the Australian Health Professionals Regulatory Agency, as they have ruled (and successfully prosecuted a Doctor...') that NO Doctor is qualified to give any NUTRITIONAL advice, that being the sole preserve of the "Dieticians" .
It's not just Road Rules (Laws) which can be assinine.![]()
Hey mate, you could have a look at a website in America called iherb, it’s been a good source of certain products for us. Melatonin is strong and cheap!!
Also could try one day of fasting a week or two days of reduced intake a week.
Superquag I don't subscribe to the no carb camp. The brain runs on carbs. I take in fruit, veg and brown whole grains (vegan). Lots of carbs and great bloods.
Cheers
Nothing personal, but my Mum is 92 and wouldn't have a clue what you mob are on about![]()
