Dawn service was a bit light on this year but a good crowd at the citizens service.

I got to drive a mate's lizard and had the honour of carrying a Vet. He has only been in town a couple of weeks so we had a good chat.
He did 3 tours of Vietnam as a grunt and swapped to RAEME after that.
More pics when Nan downloads them from her Nikon.

Marched with my fellow 15 year olds at Melton. Airforce cadets and band with a load of current and former defence personal.

A 92 sailor topped my chats today. His dad died when he was 12. His 13 brothers and sisters where farmed out to uncles and Aunts or anywhere in the UK. He was shipped of to the Royal Navy at aged 13! Came to the RAN in 1942 and served here till the end of the war. His stories of the war and life were nothing short of amazing. He refused to get a lift and marched with us.

I had been untill today the one of the youngest (at sign up). He beat me by 2 years!

Young Vets marched at the front. My Kids helped out with support duties. Had a nice Dawn service at Altona as I was running a little late after moving the kids.
