Having said that, the only real racing these days takes place on two wheels. 225Kmh in 90Kmh Zone
    Not true.
Drive the latest HSV GTSR, which is obviously sold as a "road car", and one of which I own, and you will find, or read, if you don't own one, that they are absolutely capable, of "holding their own" on the road, AND, on the track. Not just my opinion, just read reports,...it really is, a really special Aussie built car.

Sorry mate, but road based cars are pretty ordinary compared to real race cars on the track.

Of course, but this thread is not talking about real "race cars", which are of course purpose built for racing,....and which certainly could not even be driven on the road,..which is the focus of this thread.

No, we went off on a tangent, as we often do.

Notice that real performance road cars have real brake packages. The swept area of the front brakes on a Saab 95 with the 200kw Carlsson or similar performance package was huge. Understated and hidden you had to look close to see just how big they were.
A much underrated and very quick car. As a young person who thought my 308 WB ute was a weapon (&#128547 i was unable to keep up with a 9000 2.3 manual turbo at one point. I chickened out at 165 as the leaf sprung ute had issues with changing directions... much later when i was actually beginning to work on Saab and Volvo etc i realised just how ridiculous the situation wouldve been😅😅. Even driven like that the 9000 wouldve been getting at worst15l/100 .. my ute? Probably 40l/100 as you can imagine a 740cfm quadrajet fully open.. but that glorious induction sound😍😍😍

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

"Real Brake Packages",..absolutely spot on,....they certainly should have.
Our latest "acquisition" has 6 piston 410mm front discs, the largest brake package ever fitted to an Aussie manufactured car.

Don't you hate that as we get older we become more responsible.
How I long for the days in the late 70's when I held the record from Helidon to the BP on top of the Toowoomba Range for 3 months in my 302 ute.
Held that record for 16 whole days until a bloke in a Cobra broke it.

"Toowoomba Range"?...I knew it well in the sixties,.....when I lived at Drayton, & when I rode a push bike.
I used to coast down the range to the bottom to see my girl friend, and when I wanted to return, I would wait at the base of the range for a semi, then just hang on to the back, and hitch a lift to the top,....those were the days.

So is 385MM,.....I doubt either would be able to be used to their full capacity in any road situation?
