Who else donates....whole blood, plasma or platelets

Did one yesterday for the first time in 15 years. Blood took 4 minutes. The rest of the waiting and stuff took over an hour. Hope that the appointment time is a little more closely followed. Starting my Business and three kids has kept me busy!

Noted a Company Challenge section which included two of my prior jobs.

I Wonder if we could get LANDROVER or AULRO as a register giver for us to attribute our little bits to? Or we could compete state by state against ourselves or even better Deffer, Disco, Rangies..........[biggrin]

Wonder which state would give the most blood in an AULRO competition?

Anything to get somebody to donate just once is worth it.....

I tried at my work but got limited response....it takes to long, don’t like needles, don’t think I’m eligible,

I feel for the nurses today, they are getting audited.... it made the girl doing me a little nervous

38min in the chair for plasma ...apparently.


I cannot do platelets, it can take between 40min and 1hr20mi

1st time donating at Tamworth.....plasma again. No clinical plasma here.

Nice little centre with friendly staff

Apparently the last doner centre in Australia that still adds ice cream to the milkshakes......cannot wait to try one.

Oh and two types of cheese

Back in the que.......

I picked a later time to arvo is the lunch time rush and it seems even busier.

The nurses are earning their keep today....no rest

And.........just noticed there is no volunteer in today, this means microwaved party pies instead of them nice and crispy in the pie oven.

(a) Giving blood Plasma to help some poor bastid in their hour of need?

Having a good nosh up of crispy baked party pies & cheese & finishing off with an Ice Cream flavourd Milk Shake & admiring ie. Perving on staff?

Confused!!!!

Well the snack after is something to look forward to.....highlight of the fortnight.

But giving back to the community is by far the main reason.

In Rockhampton helping my mum and dad out......overdue for plasma, who would have thought blood bank are open on public holidays.....

So I booked in for plasma...I was lucky to get a slot as they are pretty much fully booked.
