I am not allowed to as I am a Brit and grew up there during the BSE crisis.
Interesting article in last week's Economist about why people should be paid to donate plasma.
I’ve been donating on and off for 20 years.....but not the last three years
My New Years resolution was to give back to the community....
So far this year I’ve done
1 x whole blood
5 x plasma
Today is 30th donation over all.
Cannot donate platelets as I’m on the very bottom of the normal range.
My 18yo son was impressed with my giving to the community and has one whole blood chalked up and is doing first plasma in three weeks. Daughter say she is going to do first whole blood on her 18th birthday.

Oh....chatting to the ladies today, they encourage every plasma doner (suitable) to also do platelets
I give whole blood 3-4 times a year, up to about 75 now.
Cheers,
Mick.

Annoyingly in the UK I am also not allowed to donate because I lived in a Malarial country at a very young age.
Generally made to hard over here in the West, have to go into the city to donate, so you lose a full day and very few places regionally do it. Have tried a few times, but the bus that used to go around got cancelled.
