Snuck a cheeky whole blood in yesterday in Ringwood Vic. Four first timers to chat with. Poor sods
Always nice getting a message of thanks.........
Hi Kelvin, we’re glad we can count on you to give life! Your last O+ plasma donation will soon be turned into one of 18 life-giving treatments — just like all the ones before it. Thanks, Lifeblood
Donated yesterday - 2 first timers waiting for their interview I chatted to and they both got through unscathed and will be going again by the sounds of it. 28th official donation but I did donate when I first could for quite a few years but that isn't on the current system, but I did book in for my first plasma donation, so looking forward to see how that goes.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
A couple of empty chairs......

I wish I could donate, but being from UK, not allowed. Im not sure if theres any tests can do to know if mad cow safe though.
So after 9 months of him making his own platelets, we're back on them again. It's different this time because while the platelets are a big part of keeping him alive, this time there is a incredibly high probability that it's only for as long as that lasts. There is an entire ward of kids who rely on blood products on a routine basis, and their parents remain eternally grateful to those who donate them even if they can't find the words to express it.
My offer still stands to anyone who donates and makes it to (or is in) Perth.
Appreciate the update.
Next plasma donation they are taking an extra tube of blood to see if I can donate platelets going forward.
We’ll be in Perth some time next year during our lap of AUS.
Plan to continue to make donations on the road, thee ain’t many centers in WA so best I not drive past them.
I would love to know many blood 🩸 products and how much my uncle just consumed.
He suffered a heart attack last week, air transported in induced coma to Brisbane, double by-pass and two valves replaced, complications post operation, drained 2.5L blood from heart cavity.
My mum got into ICU in between op and second op for about 6 minutes and said there was a large bag of yellowish liquid which she assumed was either platelets or plasma.
Makes donating all the more fulfilling.......
