When i mentioned this to other medicos they were shocked. Hence I sacked him and am now more educated on the matter as I am getting the correct info.
    Certainly can't reuse needles.

And what is the problem? I have been a diabetic for over 30 years and I do all that and never had issues nor have my docs.

I use the same needle for one vial of insulin and no issues except if I drop the pen and the needle tip gets bent. No issues injection through a thin shirt, ideally Novorapid should be taken 30min before meals but if you know your body other times are OK - is more about what you will be eating - a light meal at lunch and a standard dose of insulin can be an issue for me later in the afternoon so I often skip it then. If I will not be able to get a meal - then no insulin.

You need to know your body and how it reacts to the diabetes and the insulin - as said i have been type 2 for 30 years and not as yet suffered any of the debilitating results so must be doing something right.

Agree with you garry. I do all the same, and that endo is right. I have been a type1 for about 20 years, i do all of the above.

This is where 4 other diabetic medicos have disagreed when I mentioned it to them and the shock horror. The pen needles are coated with some compound and are designed for once only use.

Interesting you should take yours 30 mins prior. I'm on Nomix30 and it starts working within 10 - 15 mins for the fast acting and then the slow acting lasts me most of the day.
. Looking at Novorapid which you are on info says .

    NovoRapid
    ®
should be given immediately before a meal because of the fast onset of action (start of

the meal should be not more than 5-10 minutes after injection)

I was warned by doctors not to take my insulin before my meal was ready. I suppose it depends on the individual.

I'm not sure about the coating or one use design.

I use mine for the life of the vial too , only because I can't be bothered changing it every day.

The needles are free through the NDSS so you can use as often as you want. Do you realise there are various thicknesses and lengths available?
An NDSS pharmacy should be able to give you samples of different sizes to try. You DO feel the difference.

You are really on the right track with weight and diet. Add a little exercise to the regime and you will almost have it beat.

Yes, my needles are free, so use a fresh one every time. There is a warning on the needle pack that reuse can dull needle and cause hardening of the fat where you have injected.

I have no issues except being given info from my original endo conflicts with info I got from numerous doctors , nurses whilst my stays in hospital. My diadetes was better controlled whilst in hospital and is now better controlled thanks to correct info. I am now in rehab and have also got diabetic specialists. When I mentioned my old Endos name it was strange that they ALL seem to know him and went silent or gave "that look of oh, him" so this sends signals that something is not right. Even when I did my first session with my original Endo's nurse she even disagreed with advise he was giving and said she was going to have a word to him about it.

You will know i you have a blunt needle - actually they are not usually blunt but the tip gets bent and can hurt when going in and catches flesh on the way out causing bleeding. The hardening of fat at the injection site is not because of the needle but using the same spot over and over - rotate your sites to prevent hardening of fat which can also restrict the uptake of the injected insulin.

Welcome to the world of diabetes - everyone is an expert and everyone has their own ideas - ask too many questions and many " professionals" become wary and think you are questioning their ability which is not the case - just trying to understand - they have the view that you should just blindly follow their instructions - problem is, as you have found there is a lot of differing advice.

As time goes on and you have a few unexpected hypos and start to learn how your body reacts you will slowly learn what to follow and what to ignore.

Remember you can eat all things in moderation but you need to learn that moderation means different things for different foods.
