As listed it says Genuine Hardy Spicer as we have had enquiries from customers saying others are trying to pass copies as Hardy Spicer.
If it was being advertised as a Land rover Genuine part we would have Land Rover in the brand section as in our other listings..
I just googled to satisfy my own curiosity and Hardy Spicer UK are owned by GKN
I noticed the part number, hence my question, thanks Mario.

What it boils down to these parts are made to original factory specifications and should do the job on a factory speced vehicle, the problem is people change the original factory spec vehicle by modifying it with lift larger tyres etc etc. Land Rover did not design the original parts with this in mind . Hence failures of original speced parts sometimes occur. if is then unfair to blame a part that failed and call it ****. That's why there is an aftermarket industry with higher speced parts to cater for this. IE Tom Woods tail shafts etc.
Having said that though, It is a bit ordinary that Wardys centre bearing failed in such a sort time.
We will all have to wait and see what H/S says.

    VERY BLOODY ANNOYED

Well..... I have to say that HS is very good to deal with. They’ve agreed to freight me a replacement shaft today and have charged me only their wholesale price. No charge for freight to Birdsville and they will also reimburse me for the freight of the old shaft back to them. Bloody amazing service in my opinionVERY BLOODY ANNOYED.
Ben, the guy I’ve been dealing with has been sensational.
Mind you, the downside is that TNT who are their preferred transport company say that it may take until 2nd July to get here...... but that is a worst case scenario according to Ben, just depends when they can link up with a road train coming here. All that is something you learn to live with here.
So far so good..... if it all turns to crap down the track I’ll let you all know.
BTW, the reason I didn’t name the company in the early stages was that I didn’t want to bag them unless it was necessary and that decision so far has been correctVERY BLOODY ANNOYED

Wardy, just as well you didn't bag them as people have been threatened with legal action in the past even if they have been ripped off.. Aulro forum rules no name and shame.
Glad your getting it sorted out..

DISCOVERY 2A RECO FRONT PROP SHAFT
What a top bloke Russell isVERY BLOODY ANNOYED. Called him on Sunday and he rebuilds and rebalances prop shafts. Unfortunately his reco’d units still don’t have a greaseable centre bearing, but he does use HS bearings. He did tell me that he has ONE ONLY hybrid shaft which has a double cardan from A Toyota 100 series (greaseable centre bearing and heavier uni’s) which I’ve decided to buy. I’ll install it when I get back to Melbourne around December. I’ll keep the new HS unit as a spare since we have 2 D2a’s

Fitted the hybrid shaft on Thursday...... not even a hint of vibration and it just felt so strong when I was putting it in.
Unfortunately Russel has told me that mine will be the only one, as the parts cost to do them is now prohibitive...... lucky meVERY BLOODY ANNOYEDVERY BLOODY ANNOYEDVERY BLOODY ANNOYEDVERY BLOODY ANNOYED

Oh well looks like we'll have to make do with Tom Wood shafts.

The HS shaft using the Toyota DC always looked really good but in the past I could land a TW shaft for less than the rebuild cost and Jeep Konnection often have them on the shelf at a very good price too.
