    Yeah, no sympathy myself for anyone that gets busted. It isn't hard to pull over somewhere where you can legally park (not on a freeway, etc -I have seen this) and use your phone if you need to -I do this a dozen times a day at work. Simples.

    I'll even park up to take a call that requires a lot of concentration or is important, or ask the caller if I can call them back when it's safe to do so.

    Not hard - hope it gets some ****tards off our roads if they are dumb enough to get caught more than once.

    i should do this more often (the pull over and talk thing)
    Just talking hands free is bloody distracting, particularly when someone is asking technical questions or I'm trying to sort something/someone out over the phone.

    Yep, those are exactly the types of calls I'll pull over for - I get Techs and customers calling for technical and breakdown advice - it's very hard to concentrate on the road properly while taking these calls. Our workplace is very proactive about this and encourages it.
