    I agree.
You would have to use a "Stinger"on a dog that size just to stun it so that you could finish it off.
A hollow point .243 would be my personal choice

Hey! Its not the dogs fault.

I quit rangering cos of the poorly bred, agressive, badly trained creatures with no discipline - the animals were fine - its the owners were the problem.

Yes, we know, the dogs had a rough time when they were puppies. Tell that to a parent who’s child just had their face removed.

How much property do you live on? If it's more than 5 acres I'd just shoot it with the Adler!
You warned him, and it bailed you up.
I dunno what minimum land you can shoot on but it's 5 acres here in vic i asked a cop when doing my licence.
I live on 300+ just outa town and we have a suburb along our fenceline now.
I have caught cats in my traps and taken them back to the owners but they only get one chance. 9/10 time the owners dont listen.
Fair enough if you don't wanna cause dramas but you could always say it attacked you again or your kids if you have any.
Small country townspeople will understand. I'm sure your not the 1st to be bailed up by them.

The quiet approach is great to avoid the confrontation but it could possibly backfire.

Ive never tried to trap a dog but as for bait why not try dog food or treats? Cat foods great for foxes probs work for dog's even human food maybe.
But maybe the dogs too smart for your cage? Dig a pit trap if your keen. But then you gotta be careful as it could be animal cruelty.

    I'd go back to Adler.

Good luck nothing worse than bad dog owners it's a shame for the dogs in the end.

While 22subs wouldnt be my 1st choice for a dog, a well placed shot at under 25m and it will get the job done.

No two ways about it, a responsible owner once notified, would have apologised and made sure their overgrown rodents were kept off your patch.

So, you have a couple of options.

Being in QLD, I believe you can shoot the animal if it is harassing your stock, part of a wild dog pack and you have evidence of livestock being attacked.

If you're the one being attacked, you could shoot it, but you'd have some explaining to do to the coppers. Depending on their attitude towards the non-uniformed (degree of harrassment they subject fellow 'citizens', without reason) you could be in for a fine, or you could be congratulated.

Brown paper bags don't go down so well anymore in qld, so you'll have to leave a carton as a thankyou at his back porch when he knocks off duty.

If the dog's scaring the horses, get some video of it, then call the coppers. Give it to them as evidence - then your burden of proof is fulfilled. Don't go off half-cocked or make threats towards the owner, or suggest the owner be shot along with the dog....

if it happens again, then use rule .303

    Second this.

You will get In more trouble threatening the owner than shooting the dog!!

Obviously you won't be doing that tho...

My brother rescued a kid being chased by a dog, being a 6 par golfer, a 3 wood to the nuts does wonders as a permanent deterrent
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
