I think that's your problem... if you want the best, you need one tyre for each type of condition. For example, muddies for mud, All Terrains for the highway and so on.
You need to choose the best compromise for you. :) I know it can be hard as often the people trying to sell you the car have no personal experience of the tyres they sell :(
Exactly! All tyres are a compromise, and which is the best compromise for each driver will be different, as not only does each driver have a different pattern of use, but their priorities vary. For example, one driver may be worried about tyre noise and another couldn't care less, so they end up with different "best" tyres even though their driving is identical.
