I had a good friend who served his indentures as a motor mechanic in the bottom half of the 1960's at a combined Citroen/Mercedes Benz dealership. He left the job after gaining his trade papers. He was a very good mechanic and the dealer principal wanted him to stay. Barry left because he wanted a much easier working life than that wrenching Citroens and Benzen. Any time he applied for a new job he told the prospective employer that he didn't work on those makes.

....... If you wathc the factory videos of later cars .... they assemble the entire units... plug the pre-assembled dash in through the windscreen opening... the driveline is assembled into a lighweight subframe and the body is dropped on the top. No wonder nothing is bloody accessible
