Me too,the Defender is the best,it just crawls along around them,to their amazement,no need for too much momentum.[biggrin]

The D4 needs a bit more momentum.

Actually,we have never got the Defender stuck,needing a pull or dig out.

Don't ask about the D4,it was badly bogged for a few hours in a remote spot on Moreton,and there was no one around.Luckily we had the long handled shovel,although it was dark by the time we got out.All fun and games,and bloody hard work.[biggrin]

I know what you’re saying, I feel the same. Some people who’ve spent a shirt load don’t want advice, it’s just supposed to work out of the box without any particular knowledge or experience driving on the beach.

One of my best memories of driving in the 110 was when a bunch of cars on main beach Straddie was waiting for a Paj to get unstuck so the track would be clear. I just effortlessly wombled through the soft stuff off the side of the main track and around the Paj. The lady in the passenger seat gave this priceless look as I smiled and drove past. That Paj should have easily drove through there. It was all down to high tyre pressures IMHO and lack of driver experience.

I only got stuck in my 1st 110 once, in soft saturated sand at Cape Flattery FNQ. Down to the axles. Again, I blame driver inexperience.

Ha yeah, funnily enough I was just reading about that and my first thought was to find this thread!

The last time I was on Fraser about 15 years ago, I found the sand at the dropping off point on Fraser was softer than at Inskip.
I made it onto the ferry at Inskip with no worries but then got bogged about 50m off the ferry. To compound the embarrassment of having all the waiting cars and all the other cars off the ferry watch me try to dig the old 2 door Rangie out, a voice boomed out from the ferry tannoy that everyone for miles around could hear.......

With a decent tow strop & a snatch block the Ferry could have towed you out of your predicament by heading out to sea.. Always assuming you could find a decent tree of course.

The beach is where i use my 110.
Touch wood i have never been stuck in it. 16 PSI and skinny tyres plus being an alloy one its light as compared to most.
I do the same as you. Just drive slowly around those spinning wheels like the sand isnt even there. No problem at all!!

Just saw the video of all those cars at Inskip Point getting stuck.
Each one lining up to get stuck.
Reminded me of Lemmings at the cliff top :-)

Its heavy. Plus they have low profile tyres even if you get the Comp 18's.
Although at least 1 on this forum will tell you that a 2580 kg D4 is actually lighter than my TD5 defender at 1995kg as measured at my local weigh bridge.
