i think he has it wrong.
he talks about a big pipe from the alternator
but only a small pipe from the first battery to the second battery.
who cheapend out and bought a cable not thick enough.

I took it he was referring to the trickle method the solenoids give to the second battery. I might be wrong though.

Hi DAMINK, his video is being torn to pieces on a number of other sites, and with good reason.

He has no idea what he is talking about, and this relates to a number of topics that he claims to be an expert in.

Someone has whispered in his ear about DC/DC devices and now he knows all there is to know.

The first problem with his super knowledge about this subject is that he is going on about how the “SMART” alternator in his Toyota can’t charge “OTHER” batteries once his cranking battery is full.

His model does not have a “SMART” alternator, it has a basic temperature compensated alternator, and there is no comparison between the two.

He also believes the crap that a DC/DC will charge a battery quicker than his alternator will. Again, he has a problem with reality. Even in the latest Toyota’s, with “SMART” alternators, it has been shown that simply fitting an Optima Yellowtop, means the “SMART” alternator will recharge one in about a quarter of the time a DC/DC charger will take.

I do not believe this self-proclaimed “EXPERT” is deliberately lying, he his just so gullible that he believes the crap he is being sold by the sellers of DC/DC devices.

Not sure where that come from mate but i was simply referring to the fact the solenoids trickle feed to the secondary battery and i dont think it was the size of the connection between the solenoid/isolator and the second battery.
The second battery only gets feed when the charging battery is fully charged and if your motoring along with aircon on and all other drains it will get small amounts of charge. Not dedicated charge.
Beyond that i dont actually like the guy. Dont have much time for his opinions and to be quite frank i watched about half of the video.
I certainly dont subscribe to what he said largely apart from what i said above. I can only use my own personal experience here as im no expert in electrical or even mechanical for that matter.

I cannot stand him, although I forced myself to watch the whole video...talk about confusing the masses.

I’ve never had a problem charging a start and deep cycle via basic solenoid.

I’m not convinced on his trickle theory though a small pipe, well he didn’t actually mention cable sizes so we’ll never know how small the pipe is/was to make a judgement on his comments.

Hi DAMINK, I was not having a go at you, just at that idiot in the video.

Next, there is no charging system or isolator that first charges the cranking battery, then charges the auxiliary battery.

All batteries ar charged at the same time.

what makes you think its a trickle feed?
and the second part is incorrect imho.

well he is correct a small cable will do that, but who has a small cable there?
