Sales were now on-line and courier delivered. Their web site doesn't show their address just e-mails and mobile phone numbers. The son of a friend worked for a distributor of audio and photographic equipment for a long time. New items were only sold to trade resellers. They always sold repair parts over the counter to all comers and I had bought parts for a 50 y.o. SLR camera there. Now parts are only sold to the trade and anything over 10 y.o. you are on your own, "obsolete, no longer stocked".
An all too sad reality that is growing everywhere.

Some times small towns are good, go to the local hardware shop, pick up the samples.
Take them home and let the wife decide on color etc, after a few changes of mind over as many days,
take the samples back and order, (hoping wife doesn't change mind).
Pick up about a week later and finish kitchen benchs thank god for small mercies that the wife hasn't changed her mind
    easy
    cheers

I've found another brand, Wilsonart. They have a showroom and warehouse less than 10 minutes from me. I've been there and made my selection. The staff were more than helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

Ian, to my knowledge the Laminex distributors were in Holdsworth St. Coorparoo for over 50 years. I went there with the cook a couple of times so she could make up her mind about colours and patterns. I know they moved but have had no need to find out where. I don't think they ever sold to the public from there, only trade.

Ian, I asked the cook about this when she got home. She said she went there a few times when she was doing some interior design work in the 1980's to look at colours and patterns. She says they did not sell to the public, trade only, and only full sheets. She said they supplied her with sample pieces and pulled out full sheets so she could see what a large area looked like. Said they were very obliging but she had to go to a cabinet maker to get the job done. Thank you, Laminex. Otherwise I would have got the job.

Laminex? It really depends on how many chooks you've got and what you feed them.
