    AUSTRALIA'S BEST BOUTIQUE BREWERY...BY FAR

I hate using the term boutique for a brewery especially this one which is far from boutique.

This brewery has without a doubt the best tasting range of brews I have ever experienced.

There are more than ten in the range and you can buy a paddle of 4 butchers (7oz) brewed products for $15 , so taste them all you need to buy 3 paddles and you will need a designated driver because some of it is over 8%.

You can drive or get there by boat on the Murray or houseboat holiday destination.

The venue.....The Woolshed Brewery , Paringa.

    Very highly recommended.

I like the above distillery because he "brews" his own bio-diesel to use in his whisky process, seems to be a very sustainable, closed loop, business in Tasmania.

I have been a dedicated beer drinker for 60 years. Age has lowered the consumption but I try to keep up standards. Ever since the first "craft" or "boutique" brewers arrived on the scene I have tried their products. Now there are so many I have given up. I will say this. Most craft beers I have tried have a somewhat peculiar taste, some very peculiar. Many i would never drink again. Almost all are grossly overpriced. Some, of course, are very good but I would never buy more because of the excessive price. I note that many now are sold only in twee little yuppy bars with dim lights and carpet. A lot appear to be restaurants masquerading as a tavern.

I tend to agree, some of the so called craft brews i have tasted have that nasty badly made homebrew after taste yet they charge a premium price for them.
I'm no expert but some of my own brews taste better that some of the commercially made boutique beers.

ALL breweries should be demolished and rebuilt as Bundy rum distilleries.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

A couple of weekends ago I went in to Brissie for an afternoon and night session with the BIL from Rocky and a few of his mates. Hadn't been to Brissie socially for 15+ years. The first "Brewery" visited was at Newstead. I said to the BIL" I'll get this one." Bad move, as the drop I selected was $18 for a pot (10 oz for Non Qlders) and the taste was not to our liking. The worst $36 I have spent!

In saying this, the missus had given me her " Wining and Dining Expense Account" card, which was due to expire and still had several hundred $$$ on it which she had to get rid of. We certainly tried our best to assist her in the matter!
