    Landrover to the rescue!

Drove the 2a down to the village through next door's this morning. On the return trip, very pleased to see most of the gates open (there are seven of them), presumably my neighbour hand feeding his cattle. Came to Spring Ck, which has a very sandy crossing - and there he is, or at least his No.2 son and his small son, back wheels down to the axle on the 4 tonne truck (several 'big bales' on the back), and shovelling sand.

I drove round him and pulled up about 3m in front. By the time I got out, planning to get my chain out of the back, he was already hooking up a heavy load strap. Just put the 2a in 1st/low, and pulled him out. Got cordial thanks, and the comment - saved us a long walk (about three kilometres).

No camera unfortunately, and the whole episode took less than five minutes.

Nice story. Landies to the rescue everywhere. Not long ago LROCWA members were on the GRR when they came across a broken Tojo...... driven by an ex club member who happens to also be a Life Member of LROCWA but hasn't had any association with them for years.
They were very pleased to be able to assist him with a tow into the camp ground.
No doubt there were some little smiles and giggles going on.

Great new thread JD. I predict this will become one of the big long running threads we all love.

Not a big rescue, but most recently whilst looking at a country property, the real estate agent in his late model Ranger became bogged in a paddock. I pulled him out with the Defender of course, but the funny thing was he had already teased me about owning a Defender and his first response to becoming bogged was to suggest we needed the farmers tractor to pull him out 😊. I smiled, hooked up the snatch strap and he was out in a jiffy.

Thats the thing that many don’t understand about Land Rovers. They are supremely capable without any fuss.
