Hungry Jacks Vegan burgers

So , are these vegan burgers any good? Do they taste allright?

My wife and I dine often enough at Govindas restaurants run by the Hari Krishnas.....the food is delicious, it's vegan, and their fresh drinks are rather nice too. And so are their desserts......remind me a lot of what grandma used to make....from fresh natural produce.

My son married an Indian girl and their family get togethers are all vegan and most of it is in a finger food style and all yummy.

It would be very easy for us to give up eating meat but I love properly cooked steak too much.

On vegan sites they are in the fence.....some reckon they need to tweak the flavors a bit....I nearly pulled into HJ’s at Gladstone today to give one a go.

For some reason I can’t find out if HJ’s uses a separate grill to cook their veggie burgers? LOL

Tonight we’re cooking a vegetarian shepherds pie ...with mince. Yum! :) LOL

Whether you buy the vegan burger, or the meat one, the REAL healthy thing to do is to throw away the bun!

Some fantastic recipes from all over the place, not all veg.

I've had one, and used it, for years, and saw a recent re-edition in a bookshop a couple of years ago

The burger tastes fine but it like the meat ones is still fast food and really only an ad hoc treat.

Govindas is great.

As for buns used at HJ's yes not great. Humans do best on a variety of whole grains and if HJ's did a genuine wholemeal bun option that would be great.

Have relatives who are vegans. Have to admire their perseverance and efforts to find foods that match the lifestyle. There are though some strange compromises like not having leather shoes but ones made from oil based products are fine.
