That is a little weird......ie that close you cannot open doors.
So what would you do?
This was a story told to me by my Toyo Troopy mate and his wife last night.
So they were at a beach camping at one end near the rocks about 6 or so km from the drive in onto the beach.
Only ones there and were getting ready for bed at about 9:30 at night.
So down the beach they notice some headlights and think nothing of it as the place is popular for fishing.
Next thing they know a single guy in a work ute parks right beside them. As in like can't open your door without hitting the car sort of right beside....and just sits there. So my mates wife being a fiery one has a few words and asks him to give them some space and move. He says he is doing nothing wrong and has no intention of moving. So this guy just sits there in the driver's seat and finally leaves in the middle of the night.
Visions of wolf creek were going through my mind while listening.
So what would you do? You have travelled a long way to get to this spot and have a bit of a camp setup so not so easy to just move.
Anyone else had similar?

Maybe he was scared of the dark.....
Personally, I would have told him to rack off.
Life is just a series of obstacles preventing you from taking a nap.
If told to leave and he wont . Then what do you do?
Resort to violence or suck it up like they had to.
I probably would have moved as not a big deal but an elaborate camp makes it harder.
It pretty common though, we find it all the time in free camp areas.
Same cruising with the yacht around the pacific islands. Anchor up in a nice bay and some twit comes and anchors off right beside you when there is heaps of room. Drove us nuts.
My wife would arc up pretty much instantly.
And when she get angry yea i would put on my angry face too.
He would move on. If not likely a fight would occur.
Respect gets respect.
Disrespect gets disrespect.
Classical music pushes away a surprising number of people.
Clearly taking pics of the person, vehicle and plates often makes them uncomfortable too.
Some wet wood in the choofer works wonders when reasonable requests are unsuccessful. A generator on display also helps.
Why do people do it? Herd instinct? Insecure? Friendly?

First 5 seconds is all you need to watch.
Would work just as well.
Haha , yes she did that. Well not the music but she did take pictures and told him he was strange , like rapey pedo strange!
We have only had one strange person who was hiding behind some bushes watching as we went to bed but nothing like this guy.
I was thinking id start packing up to move and use my tyre valve tool to loosen his valves at the rear while moving around the car.
Then just hammer it off the beach and go to plan B. Problem for me doing that is i have a red defender. Not many of those around.
Is it possible he just had a bad experience and needed a feeling of security?
Many people are hardened and dont respond to diplomacy. If so you need to back it up.
Maybe if you find his behaviour threatening, amass your numbers, stand your ground, and say in a nice way; "I find your behaviour threatening", as you all look at him in the eyes. Reason with him and dont back down. He will get uncomfortable and decide its more fun to be elsewhere.
