    Look what the mailman delivered……

Just in time for the weekend.

I joined an online whisky or is it whiskey club in the hope I’ll be delivered some bottles that are not on the local shelves……I received a whisky and a whiskey.

    Whiskey or Whisky
    Both correct
    Depends on the dialect
Or maybe the Irish and the Scottish just need something to disagree onWhiskey

Has anyone here tried Glenturret? A BIL, who is a bit of a Whisky connoisseur, reckons it's a good drop.
Personally, I've tried the Whisk(e)y stuff once, about 50 years ago and that'll do me.

My local had a whisky bourbon and craft beer festivals today…….

For some reason I thought there’d be some weird amd wonderful brewers to choose from…but is was all available at the bottlo.

Soooo I tried what I hadn’t had before, they were a little surprised that I asked for it nest with an extra cup of ice.

    Soo, tried these 4

    Jack Daniels Sinatra
    George Dickel
    Knob creek
    Makers mark 46

Knobs creek was the only one I finished neat, the other three tasted better with one cube of ice.

The Sinatra was most expensive at 4 drink tokens.

I started with a Your Mates Tilly to quench the thirst as it was rather tropical walking the 1.5km….

Tip. it all tastes better with Coke. It must be coke though, Pespsi doesn't cut the mustard, so Coke

I prefer mine on ice rather than cokeWhiskey

(I am talking about frozen water and I assume you are talking about Coca Cola)

If I need a bit of sweetening up, maybe a splash of dry or lemonade, Coca Cola is the worst thing you could ruin a good whiskey with (even a bad whiskey doesn’t deserve coke)Whiskey

    Smile

Didn't catch the name but listening to the wireless Thursday night and they were talking about a bottle of whiskey that was being sold at Dan Murphy's for $38,000

And yes I did check my typing. That was three noughts after the 38 with no decimal point.

Now I don't drink whiskey some probably should not comment, but I am going to give my 2 cents worth.

I do not believe that any whiskey can be that good to be worth that sort of money
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Has anyone here tried that NED Whisky being flaunted on supercars this weekend?

I love Jack Daniels in it's various forms but won't share it with anyone who wants to destroy it with coke.

Btw , just to fuel the convo, i/we drink Pepsi Max if we drink cola here....swmbo likes it with the cheapest scotch we can buy. We go into Dans and ask , whats your cheapest scotch
and get a bottle of it, usually around $19 or so.....

it's a bit crazy, my bil drinks run 'n coke , you can guess which rum....and drinks 4ltrs of coke a week with it.....

Yes, there is a bit of a story about Sinatra....I'll have to look it up.....I got told when I was at the distillery but I've forgotten.

I have an ever increasing quantity of registered numbered "specials" ie empties now....my family try to buy me one the specials for every occasion.

birthday , fathers day and xmas usually sees me with 2-3 bottles.

#1 son distills and has made me "jd" even to the point of buying specially shaved wood from their barrels to assist in ageing......there is a litre from fathers day aging gracefully at the moment....taste so far , quite pleasant , not unlike the real McCoy , a bit like their smooth 1907 Brand.
