the 3 riders possibly thought the Land Rover driver was blocking the road. Going up the mountain on a m/cycle , there is an urge to get into it , even I , with my pillion in a million on the back of my v-twin cruiser often lay it down to the pegs or my boots .

Theres nothing wrong with trying to straighten out some twisting roads....depends who is watching you. And it still feels just as good as it did 45yrs ago.

Unfortunately i see that sort of thing all day, nothing new.

I was doing 100km/hr on the M1 not too long ago,and one was weaving in and out the lanes, doing well over the speed i was doing.
He clipped a car,and then had a huge wobble, which seemed to go on for ages, before straightening up and kept going at high speed.

Luckily many bikes are noisey, which alerts vehicle drivers they are around.

I see it all the time around here. We have lots of hilly, twisting bitumen rural highways and the bikes just go nuts. Sadly a couple of years ago two of them over took me at warp speed but 20 kms later I caught up to them and one was dead on the road.

The same thing applies to the dirt forest tracks. The window down practice is essential so as to try and detect them before they can be seen. Some bikes have come unstuck due to thinking that there won't be a four wheel drive approaching them from that blind corner. But it's not just motor bikes in the bush I am wary of. The city four wheelers on holiday do the same thing. Like the dope in his dual cab who over took me on my left hand side.........

Stupid behavior is not only in the realm of bike riders
The ones on bikes don't tend to last as long!
I don't ride bikes anymore - too many numpties on the road that seem to be out to kill you through sheer ignorance!

I'll stop riding when I can't cock my leg over the seat.

I give myself and motorists , especially , a lot more room these days. I have a very bright headlight , which ****es them off, I enjoy that , not because I'm ****ing them off , but because I know that they know I am there.

to the drivers , just be motorcycle aware , we all need the roads as much as each other , give them some room and smile instead of frowning.

I stopped riding motor cycles about 40 years ago when I came to the conclusion that every time I went out someone tried to kill me.
