Spent a bit, saved a bit.

Went shopping with the Cook yesterday for Maxtrax. We've been bogged a couple of times and in one instance another club members Maxtrax were very handy and we got out easily.
So off to BCF first as they were closest.... and they quoted $248 per pair. Next stop was Anaconda who have recently moved into bigger premises (old Masters building) and they quoted $249 a pair.
Very close but Anaconda also had big signs up declaring a 10% reduction if any competitor quoted less. I showed them the BCF card quoting a massive 2 buck difference and they promptly knocked off the 10% bringing down the total price for 2 pair to $446.40.
Not a bad price saving of around 152 bucks from the full price of $598 for 2 pairs. I usually reckon a shopping trip where we spend nothing is good but this saving at least made me feel a bit better...
Now I hope we never use them.

I don't like the colour.... plus the bloke up the road with a Prado has them sitting up high on his roof rack in a "look at me way"..... I'm not lowering myself to his level just to save a few bucks.
    Plus maxtrax are 300mm longer......

Alan, you have done well. When I got my first set I paid $300.
A couple of years later I got a second set from a camping show and I paid $270

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
