My father after being up the beach with the LR S3 would stick the sprinkler under it for a few hours to get all the salt & sand off the chassis.

If I've had a vehicle on the beach and and the local river crossing has water over it, a few moderate speed passes through it works a treat as a high pressure, underbody wash.

Honestly driving up to the front of this car and seeing two people I love laying in the dirt (with a lot of attention, blankets and love) was the most frightening thing I have ever seen. KIDS! them but at time OH Bugger is almost not enough.

Hope that recovery is fast and relatively pain free, not nice when offspring do this to themselves.
